Dance across the State: HHS varsity dance team dances their way to state
On Saturday, February 25th, the HHS varsity dance team took home their second state championship.
Sophomore Morgan Herald said it was a good experience for the team since nationals are approaching quickly.
“This was a good experience because it gave us confidence in our routines before performing in nationals.”
This year’s state competition was held at Eminence high school where they competed against several other teams. The HHS varsity dance team won in the medium “game day” and medium “pom” categories.
“This year was different from last year because we got to dance in a newer, bigger gym, which gave us a cool experience as a team,” said Herald.
The team has been working hard and is getting ready for nationals by practicing every day and fixing any last-minute details.
“We have been practicing almost every day and working together to make sure our dances are the best that they can be,” said Senior Ruby Smith.
The team is heading down to Orlando, Florida, on Thursday, March 2nd to perform in nationals on March 3-5. A sendoff for the team is on Wednesday, March 1, at 5 pm at the HHS gym.
