The 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show: Rihanna Takes the Stage
In past Super Bowl Halftime Shows, there have been performances by Katy Perry, Eminem, Dr. Dre., Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, The Weeknd, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Emme Muniz, and more.
For the 2023 Super Bowl, Rihanna took the stage, who hasn’t been on stage for 7 years.
Rihanna performed the following songs last night, “B— Better Have My Money,” “Where Have You Been?,” “Only Girl in the World,” “We Found Love,” “Rude Boy,” “Work,” “Wild Thoughts,” “Pour It Up,” “All of the Lights,” “Run This Town,” “Umbrella,” and “Diamonds”.
After having her first baby in May with A$AP Rocky, last night it was announced that she is pregnant for the second time.
We asked a few students their thoughts on the halftime show last night.
Junior Joel Lippolis says his opinion on the show, “I thought it was pretty awesome because the stage kept going up and down.”
Junior Emma Healey talks about a theory on the performance, “I saw something on TikTok that said her special guest was her baby because usually there is a surprise guest on halftime shows, but Rihanna had her pregnancy.”
People were expecting Rihanna to bring out Drake, Jay-Z, or even Eminem but instead, she publicly announced her second pregnancy which surprised the audience. Some suspected she may even announce her next album which has been long awaited.
With this, the halftime show was worth the wait and we can’t wait to see what Rihanna could possibly have planned for her future in singing.
