The Varsity Volleyball team stands together with their trophy.

Another year, another Cake Classic tournament, another win.

On Saturday, the girl’s volleyball team won the annual Cake Classic in the championship game against Bishop Brossart, winning 2 games of a 3-game set.

This is the one day a year when a load of girls’ volleyball teams can come together and compete, including Beechwood, Lloyd, Boone County, Bishop Brossart, Campbell County, and our Bluebirds.

“It was a hard win. We all had to put in our best effort and work as a team to come out on top,” said Bailey Houston.

The tournament was a very well-organized exciting event for the girls to participate in. The first game was at 8:00 a.m. and the last game was at 2:30 p.m. The girls have been training hard for the tournament and it all paid off.

“If you don’t work as a team you don’t work well at all. All of my teammates support each other and never give up on one another that is why we won and we will continue to win,” said Rachel Ossege.
