A full season ahead: Soccer preview
Dribbling the ball up the field, passing the ball to the open teammate, and voices coming from every which direction.
Highlands Soccer players have worked hard in the offseason to master these skills in preparation for the season.
So far, the girl’s varsity soccer team has a record of 5-5-2, and the boy’s team has a record of 5-4-2.
With the season just starting, many players have goals for the rest of the season. Senior, team captain, Anna Melson has a few personal and team goals she wants to accomplish by the end of the season.
“Personally my goals for the year are to improve on continuing my scoring streak and helping the younger teammates grow. But the team goal is definitely going to make it to state and win districts, win the region, win state.“

“Our goal was to be undefeated at home, but now it is to win state.”
The next home Boys’ Varsity soccer game is Tuesday, September 13 vs. Newport Central Catholic. The next home Girls’ Varsity soccer game will be on Wednesday, September 14 vs. Dixie Heights.
