Beefcake: A FUNdraiser for HHS volleyball this Saturday
The HHS volleyball program is holding a tournament benefiting the Harvesters Shoe Project this weekend. The Harvesters Shoe Project is an organization that either takes money donations or shoe donations to help supply children and families in South Sudan.
The team thought the organization was perfect because they would be able to support children in other places in the world all while having fun.
In this tournament, the boys will be playing in a tournament called Beefcake.
This event will be on Saturday, May 21 at 1:00 in the HHS Gym.
Each grade level will be on a team, with the HHS volleyball girls coaching their grade.
Senior Sophia Sarakatsannis encourages people to show up to this event.
“People should come to Beefcake because it is a great fundraiser for not only the HHS volleyball program, but also the charity. This charity is the Harvesters Shoe Project.”
The grade that wins the whole tournament will win a prize and also get to play against the HHS volleyball girls in their grade.
There is also a theme for each team- the Freshman are doing blackout, Sophomores and Juniors are still deciding on their theme, and Seniors are doing beaters.
Freshman Hank Shick said, “I thought it would be fun to play against the girls if we won and am excited to play the seniors.”
Donations will be accepted in the front lobby at the HHS Gym. Be sure to stop by and support the boys!
Your donation will support the student journalists of Highlands High School. Your contribution will allow us to cover our annual website hosting costs.
