This past Saturday, March 7th, there was a Varsity boys basketball game at Northern Kentucky University (NKU). Facing Dixie High School, the Birds defeated the Colonels 72 to 58, allowing the boys to advance to the ninth region semi-finals. 

This was an intense game for the Birds, especially considering it could have been their last, but the boys fought until the end, pulling through and taking the win. 

Junior Sam Vinson, who put up 30 points in the game, said, “It was great to get a dub in the first round of region in over ten years. I’m really glad we could make that happen.”

The Birds were defeated the last time they went head to head with the Conner basketball team, so the boys are now determined to come back and beat the Cougars at the regional semi-finals today, March 9th, at 8:00 versus Conner High School at NKU.
