Local restaurants switch to carry-out only
As already publicly recognized, COVID-19 has shut many restaurants and stores around the area down. Since this virus has become a significant problem in the United States, the “Center for Disease Control and Prevention” (CDC) has responded with mandatory precautionary actions. This meant that many chain restaurants, stores or workout facilities have been temporarily closed to protect yourself and others. Through this outbreak of the Corona virus, many hometown restaurants and cafés have taken the opportunity to help the community with some classic meals.
Fort Thomas’s very own Fort Thomas Coffee (FTC) has a similar plan to other local entrepreneurs. Due to the current situation, Fort Thomas Coffee does carry out only and adjusted their hours temporarily. The classic Cobblestone Café also plans to help out with food orders during the day. They are open beginning at 10:30 AM – 3:00 PM from Monday through Saturday and will be closed on Sunday. Menu choices are the same as always and they accept to carry out orders along with curbside pick-up. Another convenient breakfast and lunch restaurant to go during the day would be Colonel De’s Kitchen. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays Colonel’s Kitchen is open from 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM. On Mondays, they are closed, and on the weekend they are open from 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM. Their menu expands from breakfast sandwiches and plates in the morning to sandwiches and burgers prepared for the evening. If you are looking for a variety of homemade and fresh option choices, then Grassroots & Vine is your go-to! They offer lunch and dinner take-out, packaged wine, beer and spirits, coffee, and gourmet food items. Grassroots and Vine officially opens at 10 AM – 3 PM and re-opens at 4 PM – 8 PM, Tuesday through Saturday. They also are offering 10% off gift certificates and 20% off all wines. Fort Thomas Pizza & Tavern is another great local choice for a hunger craving. They make an assortment of different dishes such as a steak hoagie, loaded potato skins, chicken wings, pasta, salads, and of course, pizza. They are open to carry out items and can deliver through a placement order at doordash.com. Their hours consist of 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM from Monday through Sunday, all week. Midway Cafe, located on S Fort Thomas Avenue, kept their restaurant open for Fort Thomas but has stuck to only doing carry-out orders. Their hours of operation are the same through Monday to Saturday from 11:00 AM – 2:30 AM. This is not including Sunday, which has separate hours of 11:00 AM – 1:00 AM.
