Earth Day is a global movement focused on environmental awareness. The first ever Earth Day was April 22, 1970, and that was just the start of the long history that this holiday will have.
Earth Day was created by Senator Gaylord Nelson on April 22, 1970. Nelson created Earth Day in hopes of bringing attention to environmental issues in the economy like pollution and global warming.
In order to promote Earth Day, there are ways you can make the world a better place: composting, recycling, and much more.
“There are orange bags you can buy at Kroger and it will help decompose.” Fort Thomas Forest Conservationist Nan Genther said.
In Fort Thomas we will be celebrating this day of April 27, it will run from 12-4pm and it will take place at Tower Park and there will be interactive experiences, food and drink vendors, live music, artisans, and local organizations. This will be a great experience to bring the community together and celebrate this wonderful holiday.
There will be many activities at this event like seed ball making, artwork with only natural things not things with artificial things, there will also be people that have made the trails and they will show the adults how to make a workshop.
“CORA (Cincinnati Off Road Alliance) will be coming and giving a workshop at 2 o’clock” Nan Genther, an organizer, said.
At this event there will also be live music. The performers will be Caileen Tallant of Tallant Music Studio and Fresh Baked Bluegrass.
For this event, the main focus of this event is just participating and it is just by doing the activities. Given this, the event is family friendly with there being activities such arts and crafts, seed ball making, and even yoga.
In addition to this, there will also be food attractions from varying vendors. Some of the vendors that will be there that you can purchase from Cheese and Chong, Texas Joe’s, and Coffee Emporium.
