March Madness is a big deal in college basketball. Although it has been going on for a long time, fans still love making brackets and talking about it with friends.
March Madness has been an annual event for 86 years (1939-2025). More and more people have enjoyed watching their teams in March Madness for so long because watching all the players is thrilling.
It is a 68-team tournament with seven rounds. The teams make it through the whole tournament until the NCAA Championship, where the best two from each region of the bracket come together for one last game. Many believe that the SEC (Southeastern Conference) will be the best in the tournament, but they are not the only conference in it.
“I think the SEC dominates, they’ve just been so good,” Brennan Bucher (12) said.
The SEC has many dominant teams. Auburn, Alabama, Texas A&M, Missouri, and Florida are the top five teams in the SEC, and they are all amazing to watch. But there can only be one winner.
Many people are huge fans of March Madness and they watch every single bit of it. The fans that watch are usually fans of a team they love.
“March Madness is my favorite time of the year. There’s lots of great basketball games on the men’s and women’s sides,” Business teacher Jaime Richey said.
Women’s basketball has recently become popular with the Women’s Nationals Basketball Association and their players getting very popular. One of the biggest right now in the WNBA is Caitlin Clark. The way she got this popularity was because of her outstanding performance in college and her outstanding performance in March Madness.
