Ethan Dolan and Emma Chamberlain have been through their fair share of ups and downs in their “situationship.” 

Chamberlain and Dolan were rumored to have been dating back in 2018 when they were a part of a Youtube group called “The Sister Squad” which included Grayson Dolan (Ethan’s twin), James Charles and of course Ethan and Emma.

The rumors recently resurfaced when Chamberlain made a podcast episode named “what my meltdowns have shown me.” 

In the episode she talks about a toxic relationship and how it affected her. 

Many students at Highlands and in the country are fans of the “Sister Squad” or were able to relate to Emma and her podcast. Hearing the rumors resurface or hearing them for the first time was a shock to new and old fans alike. 

“I first started watching them in 2017, I was obsessed with Emma Chamberlain and started watching her,” Charlotte Clare (9) said. 

The whole rumor about the two dating started when clips from their old Youtube channel sparked fans’ attention. In certain clips, the pair was seen staring at each other and when fans spotted blurry pics in a video that resembled Dolan and Chamberlain hugging each other, everything blew up.

The two became distant throughout later videos which made some believe that they had broken up. In one video Dolan moves his hand away from Chamberlain and she is then seen making a face at the camera that fans thought was proof of them going through a fight/break up. 

“I believe that Emma and Ethan were dating at the time and I understand why they tried to keep it private. For fans to make such comments over a little thing in a video is a serious invasion of privacy,” Clare (9) said. 

The newest source of the pair’s drama came from Chamberlain’s podcast episode detailing her toxic relationship which made internet netizen’s question who this had happened with.

Through review, many believed it was Dolan since certain timelines and dates she talked about in her episode matched up to real life timelines of the sister squad. 

“I do believe the episode she filmed was about Ethan because of the major hints she gave in the episode and it described the circumstances of their relationship,” Clare said.

Chamberlain said in her podcast how she is known for keeping her cool in tough situations.She explains how her relationship had made her become so angry she would have meltdowns and freak out over things she did not usually get mad over. 

“It’s extra disturbing when I have some sort of outburst, it’s like a wake up call but I’ve learned so much from these meltdowns.” Emma Chamberlain stated in her podcast.

Through her podcast, Chamberlain was able to shine light on how bad and toxic relationships can get. She explains that her and “mystery boy” would later hook up just as “friends” because he did not want to be labeled as in a relationship. 

Chamberlain said it was very hard to do this because the thought of getting together with someone who also was together with other people at the time disgusted her. Even still her and Dolan would hook up later. 

“I am on Emma’s side because I do understand that while she did do some things she would take back she went through so much for someone and took a chance on someone she cared about,” Clare said. 

Rumors have recently gone quiet as no new proof of the two has been released or found yet. However, people on the internet are still making edits of them and making videos explaining the drama. Neither Chamberlain nor Dolan have come out addressing the rumors (besides the podcast but that was just speculation) so fans await the truth to be set in stone from one or the other.
