Highland’s Couples Celebrate Valentine’s Day

Highlands has many couples swarming the halls, some have been together for years, while some new couples are barely a month old. We chose a range of couples from every grade to interview, find out their plans for 2019’s Valentine’s Day, and get general information about their relationship.

The first couple is Senior Ethan McIntosh and Sophomore Sydney Earle, we talked to Sydney Earle to get more information about their relationship:

How long have you guys been together?

Sydney Earle: “A year and a half almost.”

Where and how did you meet?

Sydney Earle: “Met in the drama club here in August of last year.”

Do you have any Valentine’s day plans?

Sydney Earle: “I don’t think so, we’re both too busy.”

What’s your favorite thing to do together?

Sydney Earle: “Just hang out. Just do anything I don’t really care.”

What’s your perfect date?

Sydney Earle: “A fancy dinner.”

Junior Eylie Lorenz and Junior Braxton Broering have been together for all of high school. We gathered more information from Eyloe Lorenz:

How long have you guys been together?

Eylie Lorenz: “We’ve been together for 3 years.”

Where and how did you meet?

Eylie Lorenz: “Back in 6th grade we had homeroom together and we realized we had a lot in common. We both did theatre and we both did band. It took us like 2 years but we finally realized that we liked each other. The homeroom class was Earth Science with Trimbach.”

Do you have any Valentine’s day plans?

Eylie Lorenz: “Not at the moment, no.”

What’s your favorite thing to do together?

Eylie Lorenz: “Watch Friends or The Office together in his basement.”

What’s your perfect date?

Eylie Lorenz: “Probably just a multitude of things, like go out to dinner, do a movie, classic stuff.”

Freshman Austin Eads and Freshman Hailey Reichert met in 7th and got together shortly after. Austin Eads gave us more information:

How long have you guys been together?

Austin Eads: “About a year and a half.”

Where and how did you meet?

Austin Eads :“7th grade when I moved here, we had 6th period together. It was media presentations.”

Do you have any valentine’s day plans?

Austin Eads: “Probably dinner.”

What’s your favorite thing to do together?

Austin Eads: “We go up to Fort Thomas Ice Cream all the time.”

What’s your perfect date?

Austin Eads: “We went to the ferris wheel in Cincinnati and that was a pretty good time.”

Sophomores Ava Rosenstiel and Carter Cruise started High School together only to find each other because of drama club:

How long have you guys been together?

Ava Rosenstiel: “It’ll be 2 years in August, so 18 months.”

Where and how did you meet?

Ava Rosenstiel: “We met at school. We’ve known each other for a while, but we both went to drama club, and this is really geeky but I love it, and we just kind of started hanging out a lot more, and one day I got really nervous and I asked him for his number. It was right in front of his sister, it was really bad.”

Do you have any valentine’s day plans?

Ava Rosenstiel: “I don’t yet, but I already know what I’m going to get him and I really want to tell him but I can’t because that’s going to ruin the surprise! So that’s a struggle.”

What’s your favorite thing to do together?

Ava Rosenstiel: “We usually just text all the time, so we just do everything.”

“We watch a lot of shows together. Our favorite is gravity falls.”

What’s your perfect date?

Ava Rosenstiel: “We went to the museum together, it was just great.”

Senior Leah Hayes and Senior Grady Cramer started dating as Sophomores, and as seniors and have plans to go to the same college:

How long have you been together?

Leah Hayes: “Almost three years.”

Where and how did you meet?

Leah Hayes: “We met at school.”

Do you have any Valentine’s Day plans?

Leah Hayes: “Going out to eat, somewhere nice.”

What’s your favorite thing to do together?

Leah Hayes: “Watch Dexter. ”

What was your first date?

Leah Hayes: “Movies together. ”
