While the newest release in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) Aquaman only got a Rotten Tomatoes score of 64%, it got an A- from CinemaScore and was undoubtedly a hit for the franchise.

Set not long after the events of Justice League, the movie took viewers through the kingdom of Atlantis as its king, Orm Marius, (played by Patrick Wilson) prepares to wage war on the surface world for their pollution of the oceans by getting six of the seven underwater kingdoms on his side.

The movie stars Jason Momoa as the title character Arthur Curry (Aquaman), as well as Amber Heard as Princess Mera of the kingdom of Xebel, and Nicole Kidman as Arthur and Orm’s mother Queen Atlanna.

With a screen length of 2 hours and 22 minutes, the movie boasts beautiful CGI and exciting fight scenes. The themes of hope, courage, and family, as well as revenge, hatred, mercy, and war, are prominent in this movie.

Aquaman has numerous plot twists and surprises. It is entertaining, funny, and manages to keep viewers on the edges of their seats. The movie manages to revamp the characters of the comic books, while still staying true to the source material.
