What if it’s Us? by Adam Silvera and Becky Albertalli – A Review

Authors Adam Silvera and Becky Albertalli are pioneers when it comes to writing LGBT+ novels, and their collaboration What If It’s Us? doesn’t break their record.

What If It’s Us? is a smart, funny, and beautifully written story about two boys in New York City, Arthur Seuss and Ben Alejo, who can’t decide if the universe is pushing them together, or pulling them apart.

The book is 448 pages of heartfelt moments, and crushing heartbreak, with themes of love, friendship, and forgiveness. Thankfully, however, it doesn’t end like Adam Silvera’s other book, They Both Die at the End.

As the book ends, it morphs from the typical “Happily Ever After” into a plot twist that truly pulls at the heartstrings.

Silvera and Albertalli managed to create a realistic and beautiful love story that truly draws the reader in.

What If It’s Us? is truly a masterpiece that should be read by everyone, and I hope that everyone who chooses to read it loves it as much as I do.

It is available as an online EBook from Kentucky Libraries Unbound, as a hardcover, paperback, EBook, audiobook, and audio CD on Amazon.
