On October 16, 2025, the strings students at Highlands walked onto the stage to perform their first concert of the school year. The concert included both high school and advanced middle school students. This concert included a large majority of folk songs or songs of folk roots. This concept of folk has followed the students throughout the year, as over fall break, the high school students had traveled to Nashville to explore places where folk artists and country performers were able to break into the musical scene. As the string students performed and shared these songs with the audience, the concert ended with a standing ovation from the audience.
