Looking to find new clothes but on a budget? Many people love to go thrifting for cheap clothes that need a new home. Places like Plato’s Closet, Snooty Fox, Once Upon A Child, and Goodwill provide these.
But with those places, money spent on clothing items goes towards the people who donated their clothes to make extra cash.
Instead, some people could be going to The Peppermint Pig Thrift and Gift to get some high-quality clothes and accessories while supporting Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue over in Cherry Grove, OH. Only a 15-minute drive and at a good cost.
Peppermint Pigs’ biggest intentions are to help animals get new, lovely homes and the help they need from the vet’s office. By buying clothes or even donating, they can reach their goal to successfully rehome animals who have either been turned back in, abandoned, or rescued from the outside.
They find easy ways to get money to support their center by creating GoFundMe pages for animals, Facebook pages, Instagrams, and, the obvious, thrift stores.
“I have been a fan of Peppermint Pig’s rescue work for quite some time. They truly go above and beyond and put dogs through any necessary medical or behavioral training, which takes a lot of time and money,” loyal customer Angie Albrinck, who volunteers at Peppermint Pig Thrift and Gift said.
Albrinck also added that no volunteers get paid because they want to help these amazing animals who need all the help their past homes didn’t provide them.
Peppermint Pigs Thrift and Gift is a good way to spend money for back-to-school shopping, other than spending hundreds at Lululemon or Athleta. Don’t second-guess thrift stores because they don’t have the latest drops at these name-brand stores, or because they are previously used.
But thrift stores, just like Peppermint Pig, have these items in store. People can get Lululemon leggings for under 20 dollars, and they don’t accept damaged or overworn leggings like Plato’s Closet.
They want it to be the best quality items for their customers, just like they want to give the best-looking and healthy cats and dogs out to homes who are looking to purchase a pet that’s coming from the best places.
Stereotyping thrift stores is the biggest thing in modern-day society. A lot of people think that usually people with less money in their bank account go there instead of people who do and would rather spend their money at places like Alo or Zara. But to think that that is just not the case, and some people who would like to put forth effort to donate to rescued animals and to shop to save money.
“I love to thrift anytime I get the chance to. An easy way to save money but get a new wardrobe at the same time! And to know your money is going to good causes, especially an animal rescue center, it makes you feel good that you spent your money the right way,” Ava Gwisdala (10) said.
Remember that not all thrift stores come from the background of people who want to make extra cash by sending their clothes to these stores. But to think some places put them there that have good intentions of wanting to better people and animals. And, next time, think about wanting new clothes, remember where the money may go.
