The Bluebirds (8-1) extended their win streak to 7 and are now 8-1 on the season. Through those 7 games, they have outscored their opponents 379-141. The high-scoring offense of the birds continued this past friday as they beat Conner 58-7.
The Bluebird’s defense set up the offense with a very manageable field position every drive as they forced two fumbles and held the Cougars to under 200 yards. Cam Giesler continued his impressive senior campaign with 113 yards on seven carries with one rushing touchdown and one reception for 56 yards and a receiving touchdown.
The Quarterback tandem of Brody Benke and Rio Litmer continued as well. Both Litmer and Benke threw for two touchdown passes in the win.
With this win, the Birds clinched back-to-back regular season district championships. Highlands will travel to Scott on Thursday night in hopes of completing the best regular season record under head coach Bob Sphire.
