Yesterday during the FTIS school board meeting, the 2023-24 school year calendar was finalized. With help from the Fort Thomas community, the 2023-24 school year calendar will be scheduled completely differently next year.

Rather than starting in late August and ending in early June, the 2023-24 school year will begin in early August and end in Late May. This was decided by a popular majority vote of a little over 72% by surveyors in the community. Other than starting dates, holiday breaks during the winter and spring will be a little different as well.

For winter break, students will be released on the 21st of December and will stay out until the 3rd of January. Unlike this year in which students returned the day after New Year’s Day, they get an extra day into the year to celebrate what will be 2024.

77% of the community who participated in the survey, voted for spring break to begin the first week of April. This calendar differs a lot from the current year’s.

With over a thousand participants, the 2023-24 school year will be an experience for many students, parents, and staff alike.
