December 31, 2021, 17 days before her 100th birthday, Betty White passed very unexpectedly.

On January 17, 1922, the nationally beloved White was born. Little did anyone know how much of an impact she would make on our lives. Staring in many shows, such as “The Golden Girls”, “Hot in Cleveland,” and “The Mary Tyler Moore Show.”  Betty definitely made a lasting impression on the world.

Sophomore Hollan Schweitzer said, “Grandmas in movies will never be the same again [without White].”

“I have no regrets at all. None. I consider myself to be the luckiest old broad on two feet,” said White.

Having such a legacy was well earned and deserved. Doing many amazing things in her life, Betty was looked up to and viewed as a role model.

“She was always an inspiration to be old, be healthy, so you can live a long and happy life,” said Freshman Megan Reichert.

As the year 2021 was coming to an end, many people made predictions about things that were believed to happen in the upcoming year. Multiple people via social media sites made the prediction that the death of Betty White would happen in the year 2022. However this occurred just a few days later, despite it still being 2021, Betty left the world.

She will forever be in our memory and beloved by many.

“I think she will live on as an icon in the world of entertainment and her time with ‘the Golden Girls,’” said Senior Haley Reichert.
