On September 13, 1996, Tupac Shakar was involved in a drive-by shooting and was killed while leaving a boxing match on the Las Vegas strip when he was 25 years old. Since then there have been multiple investigations and conspiracies revolving around this event for over a decade.
In 2009, Davis, known as “Keffe D,” confessed to police, a role in the case, of a former detective who investigated the shooting. However, authorities couldn’t immediately use the information. After what police say was a reinvigorated investigation, Davis was arrested in Las Vegas on Friday, with a grand jury indicting him on charges of murder using a deadly weapon. The arrest comes some 27 years after the rapper was shot.
In the years after his death, the Notorious B.I.G. is shot and killed in Los Angeles. That shooting, which is widely believed to have been connected to Tupac’s murder, remains unsolved.
In 2018 Netflix began airing “Unsolved: The Tupac and Biggie Murders,” a limited series that outlined investigations by two LAPD detectives into the killings of the rappers. The Tupac probe gained new momentum following the release of the series.
