The Hilltopper

New to our Journalism Staff this year is freshman, Grace Duty who is new
to the Fort Thomas Independent School District. She recently came from
her previous school, Southgate Public School. Her dad is the
Superintendent and her mom is a teacher at Southgate. Grace took off with
her running career as a 5 th grader and loved it ever sense. She is not
running this year due to personal issues. Surrounded by family, Grace has
two brothers and one sister. Grace’s older brother, Collin Duty who is
nineteen years old, is a photographer. While being a freshman in college,
he takes pictures with his Cannon T 5 camera. This hobby of Collin’s
inspired Grace to take a leap at Journalism. Collin takes all types of
pictures. He goes to sporting events, nature sites, and he even takes
graduation and senior year pictures. With viewing how peaceful and
enjoyable it can be to take pictures Grace knew she wanted to do that too.
One of the positive notes of taking Journalism is the small class. Grace
enjoys the class of only seven people because it gives her the opportunity
to be included in more assignments. She gets to go take pictures around
the school and attend Highlands High School sporting events. With activities
like these, Grace realizes her photography skills we just be getting better
and better as time goes by.
