The Freshman Bluebirds dominated the Covington Catholic Colonels with a score of 56-26 on Wednesday, Oct. 29.
Quarterback Bryce Armstrong (9) led the birds with 5 out of the 8 touchdowns. He ended the game with 97 passing yards, 164 running yards, a 70-yard kick-off return, and a 101-yard pick 6.
On the offensive end, the team’s o-line led the way with Caleb Atkins (9), Keegan Clark (9), Ray Ball (9), Hayden Schwalbach (9), and Adam Linkugel (9). There were touchdowns made by Bryce Armstrong(9), Nick Stojkovic (9), Amil Wimzie (8), and Jaxston Moeves (8). Along with the touchdowns, Parker Shaw (9) made all of his extra points.
Jaxson Kues (9) and Amil Wimzie (8) had an amazing game and astonishing receptions.
The defense fought strongly with leading tackle Nick Stojkovic (9). Along with many tackles made by the d-line, Hayden Schwalbach(9), Caleb Atkins(9), Keegan Clark(9), and Mason Taylor(9). With the wet weather, there were many dropped balls, all recovered by Landon Easter (9), Hayden Schwalbach (9), and Mason Taylor (9).
The team ended with 7 rushing touchdowns and 1 passing touchdown. All the extra points were good, and the freshman Bluebirds did it again.
